Budget conscious Kmart shoppers can’t stop raving about a $49 item that is almost three times cheaper than a popular brand.

Kmart shoppers can’t stop raving about a hair item that is almost three times cheaper than a popular brand.

Budget conscious customers took to Facebook to boast about the retailer’s $49 auto curler, with some comparing it to similar versions upwards of $169.

One woman who has since clocked more than 1400 ‘likes’ on a ‘before and after’ photo shared in the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook page said she was “amazed” by how well it worked.

“Not a hack or decor but the Kmart hair curler is fabulous and at $49 it’s a great buy,” she captioned the post.

“I have super thick hair and I’m amazed how good it is going through my hair!”

The Kmart product has sold out online, but is still available in stores and many are keen to give it a go.

“I had no idea Kmart did them! This is exciting,” one Facebook user wrote.

“Going to get one Friday,” another added.

The barrel-shaped curler has a rechargeable battery, a running time of 40 minutes and features adjustable temperature settings.

According to its product description, it gives “salon style perfect wavy hair”.

Many asked the shopper if the curls actually hold well, to which she responded: “It’s been a few hours and they have kept shape and dropped a little but much nicer then being a tight curl.”

She said she will update Facebook members soon after sleeping on it.

Others shared the experience of the $149 Wylera curler.

“It works well but because my hair is thick, the battery goes flat just before finishing my hair and have to charge it. Would be interesting to hear how the Kmart curler goes,” one woman wrote.

“I ordered it a few days ago too and didn’t realise there is other brand that is much cheaper,” another responded, while a third added she also “wished” she had known about the Kmart version.

“I would have tried it before ordering the more expensive brand,” she said.

Those who have the Kmart curler said they were impressed by it.

“I have the Kmart one and I really like it,” one shopper said.

“Just got this one and it’s simple to use and works better than I thought. It’s definitely replacing my normal curling wand now,” a second woman said.

However, a third warned to “be careful if it’s not fully charged”.

“It will keep your hair and not let go,” she said.

Many also praised the Wylera hair tool, saying it’s worth the money.

“I have Wylera too … works like magic!” one woman said.
